Aftercare after laser removal and remover

Aftercare affects both the result and your skin. Good aftercare shortens healing, lowers the risk of irritation and lets you keep to your next session. Here is the guide we give every client.

What's normal after the procedure

First, what not to worry about. After the laser the area may turn whitish — this fades in 15–30 minutes. Then redness, mild swelling and warmth, like after a light sunburn, last 1–2 days. Sometimes tiny scabs or a pinpoint rash appear; they go away on their own in a few days.

After the remover a scab always forms. That's how the pigment comes out, so the scab isn't a complication but part of the process. It stays for 7–10 days and falls off by itself.

Aftercare after the laser

First 24 hours

  • keep the area dry and don't touch it;
  • no makeup on the area;
  • for swelling, apply a cold compress through a clean cloth for 5–10 minutes;
  • don't sleep face down if brows or lips were treated.

First 7 days

  • treat the area with the product your artist recommended twice a day;
  • wash gently, without scrubs or rough towels;
  • no sauna, steam room, pool or sunbed;
  • skip intense workouts for 2–3 days — sweat irritates the skin;
  • don't pick any scabs.

Until the next session

  • SPF 50 daily if the area is exposed to the sun;
  • no peels, retinoids or acids on the area;
  • no tanning — tanned skin means the laser settings have to be lowered.

Aftercare after the remover

The remover needs more attention than the laser because healing takes longer.

First 3 days

  • keep the area completely dry;
  • blot any discharge with a sterile wipe, don't rub;
  • don't apply any creams unless your artist recommends them.

While the scab is on

  • don't pick or soak the scab — it will fall off on its own in 7–10 days;
  • no sauna, pool or sunbed;
  • avoid makeup on the area.

After the scab falls off

  • the skin underneath is pink and delicate — that's normal;
  • use the healing cream your artist recommended;
  • always use SPF to prevent pigmentation.

Tips for different areas

  • Brows. Hairs may lighten temporarily; they grow back in their own colour. Don't tint brows until fully healed.
  • Lips. If you get cold sores, start prevention in advance — we'll discuss it at the consultation. For the first days drink through a straw and avoid spicy and hot food.
  • Lash line and eyeliner. No mascara or liner for a week, don't rub your eyes, handle contact lenses only with clean hands.
  • Body tattoos. Wear loose clothing that doesn't rub the area, and don't cover it with a tight plaster unless needed.

What you must not do

  • pick scabs — the main cause of patches and scars;
  • tan between sessions;
  • treat the area with alcohol, peroxide or home remedies;
  • come for the next session earlier than your artist advised.

When to contact your artist

If swelling or redness lasts longer than 3 days, or you notice increasing pain, pus or a high temperature, message us right away. This is rare, but it needs a quick response.

Also message us if you're simply unsure whether everything is fine. It's better to ask an extra question than to miss irritation.

FAQ

When can I wash my face after the laser?

After 24 hours, gently, with cool water and a mild cleanser without scrub. Blot the area with a towel instead of rubbing.

Can I tint my brows with henna or dye between sessions?

Not earlier than 2 weeks after a session and only if the skin is completely calm. It's best to skip tinting before the next laser session so it doesn't hide the result.

What if the scab came off too early by accident?

Don't try to remove what's left. Treat the area with the recommended product and send us a photo — we'll tell you if anything else is needed.

Can I exercise?

Light activity, yes. Intense workouts that make you sweat heavily are best postponed for 2–3 days after the laser, and until the scab falls off after the remover.

Can I go on a beach holiday after a session?

Yes, but protect the area from the sun: SPF 50, a hat, sunglasses. If you plan to tan actively, it's better to move the session to after the holiday.
